Can someone please explain to me the rule re charging the net (without making any sound) with racket waving when an opponent has a relatively easy kill near the net (and they subsequently miss!) . Is this foul play or is it allowed?

i too go to a club where they teach me shadow badminton. It's quite useful and I must say that it is the only easiest way to improve footwork, other than Youtube.

hello ashi,
the back hand smash is considered one of the hardest to do.
if I was in your position I would work on my back hand hit, which the shuttle will jus glide over the net and slowly put power into it

hope it works ^^
